Born in 1976 in Ukraine, moved to Poland in 2013. Live in Wroclaw, Poland.

My fields are drawing, painting, doll making and teaching.

 

I am inspired by folk art, mythology, symbolism, surrealism, and Jungian psychology. 

I make my magic world from textiles and acrylic paints. I enjoy making ugly creatures to show that the true beauty is ALWAYS  inside.

 

Dolls have been my passion for many years. I always try to give them a personality, to express the character and emotions – things which fascinate me so much in people. love making witches and creatures which can take you into a world of mystery and fairy tales.  

 

My works are often called "creepy" ,"mythic" and "magic" and it is really suitable for my style description. There are many stories shared by my collectors that say that my dolls really “work”.

I think that creative works should be close and personal. I would like my dolls to have a heart and soul. Using  natural materials, like natural linen, wood, leather, feathers, cotton and wool, I want to give them a warm and familiar feel.  Antique clockworks, keys and other steampunk elements make my dolls imbued with the spirit of antiquity and peculiarity.

 

My dolls are made of cotton, filled up with a hollowfibre, then primed and stained, on a flexible copper wire frame. I am modelling the face of the doll with a needle and a thread to create the emotions, to make them “speak”.

 

This is an intuitive and meditative process, which always makes me excited. Sometimes I keep a certain idea in my mind, sometimes I don’t even think about it, following the “flow”.

 

When I finish my doll, I consider that it becomes alive, it has its own soul, and can help, support and protect her owner.

 

Providing workshops I  continue my ancestor’s tradition of making spiritual intuitive rag dolls called Motanka and Women’s Circles which have a supportive sense of sisterhood and connection that many women have felt lacking in their lives.

I believe that Women are creators by nature. The feminine energy within us creates boundless opportunities for creativity in various forms.

I designed and produced the special dolls which are used in psychotherapy (with children to establish rapport, to help women who came through the cruelty address specific issues, and to serve as fantasy substitutes for stress-provoking figures in the environment)

As a painter I am the author of a unique deck of Metaphorical Associative Cards , based on my intuitive paintings. The cards are helping to contact unconsciousness by showing a symbol or metaphor that has emotional and allegorical meaning, which corresponds to the phenomenon of life, in which we are able to connect objective meaning to our senses and experiences. 

 

 I enjoy painting in a surrealistic and mystical style. My paintings are my way to tell you my story, to share my thoughts and emotions, and to make a dialogue on topics which are risky or difficult. Painting is just my way to speak. I paint with acrylics and mixed-media, I like to experiment and to create my own techniques.

 I work as an Art teacher at the American School of Wroclaw, Poland. I’ve been working as a teacher for more than 20 years. Teaching is my passion, this is my way to share my knowledge, to express myself, and to learn.
